It’s the summer of 1991 in rural Canada when Gwang-Sun Lee, a renowned former hunter from Korea, is enlisted by the affluent farmer, Scott Larson, to eradicate the burgeoning population of feral dogs in the area. Gwang-Sun sees this as an opportunity for him and his children Hi-Joon and Hana to assimilate, while diverting attention from the grief of his recently deceased wife. Chronicled in three chapters, melancholic comedy Mongrels meditates on race, identity, and the pursuit of happiness.
