Chris Shepherd discusses Anfield Road, his nostalgic debut graphic novel, in conversation with animation director Hannah Lau-Walker.
Chris’ novel depicts a beautiful coming of age story centered around growing up in the working-class dynamics of Merseyside in the late eighties and evokes the rich history of Liverpool through its beautifully illustrated pages.
As well as discussing his brand new book, Chris will take us back through the years in his career as an artist, writer, filmmaker, and British comedy legend.
He’s done everything—from the 43rd World Stare-out Championships with Paul Hatcher for BBC’s Big Train comedy sketch show to working on music videos, short films and lecturing at Central Saint Martins.

Bydd Chris Shepherd yn trafod Anfield Road, ei nofel graffig gyntaf hiraethus, mewn sgwrs gyda’r cyfarwyddwr animeiddio Hannah Lau-Walker.
Mae nofel Chris yn cyfleu stori ddod-i-oed hyfryd sy’n sôn am dyfu i fyny mewn deinameg dosbarth gweithiol yng Nglannau Merswy ar ddiwedd yr wythdegau, ac mae’n dwyn i gof hanes cyfoethog Lerpwl drwy ei thudalennau darluniadol hardd.
Yn ogystal â thrafod ei lyfr newydd sbon, bydd Chris yn mynd â ni ’nôl drwy’r blynyddoedd yn ei yrfa fel artist, awdur, gwneuthurwr ffilm, ac arwr comedi.
Mae e wedi gwneud popeth – o 43ydd Pencampwriaeth Syllu’r Byd gyda Paul Hatcher ar gyfer sioe sgetsys comedi’r BBC, Big Train, i weithio ar fideos cerddoriaeth, ffilmiau byrion, a darlithio yn Central Saint Martins.
