At the heart of The Ideologies & The Promise Virtual Experience are four monthly Livestreams (virtual conversations) in which a member of the Creative Team of the film speaks on a subject or theme from the film. The conversations are each preceded by a private screening for viewers who then watch the interview live with a chance to ask questions in real time. ABOUT THIS LIVESTREAM: Ideologies & The Promise includes close to 15 minutes of original music composed by NYU Steinhardt Graduate Sanjay Garcia Pamaar. The score has won the distinction of Best Score for a Short Film by the Toronto Film Awards, announced just days before the airing of Livestream III in which Pamaar was joined by the psychologist, and fellow musician, Daniela E Schreier, PsyD ABPP, who led a discussion on the film's complex themes. Together, using examples replayed from the film, they explored how the film had to be constructed while isolated in the epicenter of a global pandemic, as well as how the music was created to portray the feelings surroundings the film's themes.

PLEASE NOTE: Ideologies & The Promise is not screening at this link. You can return to view a final preview screening on April 18. In the meantime, enter now for the interview (no code needed)

An examination of theology and ideologies between two Hispanic immigrant women, one Cuban and one Mexican; and a philosophical journey between two cousins reeling from the loss of a family member. Both parts converge with a poignant, family-affirming climax. Adapted from an essay and a short story written by a son and his mother, respectively.
