Idaliz Villanueva has survived years of abuse in order to raise her two daughters safely. After multiple generations of women that experienced violence in their home, Villanueva brings the women and girls of her family together to create a film to confront and share their stories together. Director Gabriela Diaz Arp brings us along to witness their creative process: creating characters, building a world of memories they can return to, and reconciling with their pain. Through ancestral mysticism and the tradition of storytelling, these women discover a pragmatic way to share their collective trauma, and break the cycle once and for all. -BT

Gabriela Díaz Arp is an independent director and producer passionate about the ways visual language can deepen human understanding and connection. Her work challenges documentary conventions by incorporating fictional elements, new technologies, and pushing the boundaries of the form.
