Director Biography - Amber Monet
Amber Monet is a Philly-based director, editor, and producer who made her feature film debut with The Legendary Marion Williams (2023), a documentary on the iconic gospel singer. She followed this with Dear Josephine (2024), an award-winning exploration of the life of Josephine Baker that received top honors at many festivals, including the Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival and the Chesapeake Film Festival.

Truth buried in lies does not rot - it waits.
Some projects change your life and arrive when you don’t realize you need them. I lost my mother unexpectedly to stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2020. After she passed, I made a promise to dedicate my passion to helping others document their family histories and dynamics because as we grow older, people pass and memories fade if they are not captured.
The Kahiki 3 and Me tells a universal story of generational trauma and healing. It is a reminder that we all carry wounds within our families and that through storytelling, we can begin to reveal them.
