About the Filmmaker:

Sargon Saadi is a film director based in Los Angeles. He studied cinematography at Columbia College in Chicago where he graduated with a BA in Film in 2011. Sargon has worked on numerous projects ranging from independent films to big budget productions.

After the turmoil in the Middle East, he turned his focus to documentaries, producing several films in Turkey, Iraq, and his native Syria, dedicated to raising awareness about the persecution of ethnic and religious minorities.

He won "Best Director" for his documentary "Silence After The Storm" at Fine Arts Film Festival in Los Angeles, and was nominated for "Best Short Documentary" at Madrid Film Festival, in addition to other awards like "Vimeo Staff Pick" for his previous film "The Last Plight".
