On the last day of school, awkward Cassidy has a huge crush on August, one of the “cool kids.” While working up the nerve to ask him out, Cassidy gets sucked into her overactive imagination of all the ways it could possibly go wrong. She imagines that she literally chokes on her own words; her hand gets all clammy when he trys to shake it; she has the worst acne breakout ever in front of him; she gets so nervous that she literally explodes. Her thoughts continue to spiral, and she imagines him rejecting her or saying yes but only as a joke leaving her to die alone!August snaps Cassidy back to reality by asking if she is okay. To her horror, she realizes he saw her on her full imagination spiral. Confidence boosted by August knowing her name, she asks him out on a date. August accepts and asks her what she wants to do. Cassidy says whatever he wants to do. August's thoughts begin to spiral about what if he plans a bad date, and Cassidy starts to spiral again about what if she messed it up. They are so overwhelmed by their “what ifs” that they both explode.

My thesis project is called The Life. It is a 2D animation with a sprinkling of 3D motion graphics and some VFX. The overall style is vivid, colorful, and full of courage. The story illustrates a young man’s search for the meaning of life, using a never ending train ride as a metaphor for life.

‘Demi-Goddesses’ is the second essay about still dominant dark aspects of our modern society. It is conceived as a surreal anti-patriarchal thought experiment and raises important questions about gender, power, and social change, prompting us to reflect on how historical patterns of discrimination and oppression might be either repeated or overcome in a reversed gendered world. It challenges the viewer to confront their own assumptions and biases, and to consider the possibilities of a more equitable society.Overall, the intention of the film is that it will spark conversations and inspire the viewer to imagine a world where gender is not a limiting factor. At best, the audience will leave the theater with a greater awareness of the issues and a sense of possibility for a just future.
