Morgan (Ella Rubin) is a sheltered 17-year-old, struggling to define who she is in order to write her college essay. When a crisis provides her the rare opportunity to spend time with her three significantly older half-siblings (Betsy Brandt, Thomas Sadoski, and Aya Cash), she hopes they’ll be able to shed some light on what it means to be an adult, only to be disappointed when she discovers they’re all faking it.
"Adult Children" is a coming-of-age story centered on four siblings. Three of them grew up much too quickly. One has yet to take the plunge. And all of them blame their mother for their shortcomings. As our matriarch Mimi Rogers says, “No kid is ever satisfied they’ve had the right combination of unconditional love and life-threatening trauma.”
