When Jane, a middle-aged woman estranged from her elderly mother, travels to see the dying woman one last time, a nursing assistant mistakes her for the hospice worker everyone is expecting. When her step-father greets Jane at the old woman’s bedside, his attempts to charm fall flat, and Jane soon finds herself left alone with the semi-conscious woman. But the situation quickly proves too much for mother and daughter, and Jane must choose between her present and her past.
