A Film About My Cat

Seven years ago, five friends left Copenhagen for the Baltic island of Bornholm to build an organic cidery from scratch. This documentary follows them during their annual autumn harvest, as they gather apples from neighbors’ and friends' gardens and from their own young orchard to be pressed into cider. Captured on vibrant, dreamlike Super8 film and bathed in the low October light, the film offers an intimate look at their choice to trade city life for manual labor, reestablishing a connection to nature and the tight-knit community cooperation that keeps their dream alive. 2026; 9 min

Frank Newsome was born in Pike County, KY in 1942 and was one of twenty-two children who grew-up in the Old Regular Baptist Church. Following in the footsteps of his father, Frank worked as a coal miner and after almost two decades in the mines, contracted black lung and was forced to retire.&nbsp;I’m Going to be a Diamond Someday combines an intimate interview with Frank Newsome with footage captured throughout the towns and coalfields of central Appalachian; both before, and after the catastrophic floods of 2022. Issues of family, faith, community, and politics are explored through the realities of economics, industry, and climate change. 2026; 27 min.

All Access Festival Pass

The 45th Bi-Annual New Jersey Film Festival will be taking place between January 22-February 28, 2027. The Festival will be a hybrid as we will be presenting it online as well as doing select in-person screenings at Rutgers University. Almost all the films will be available virtually via Video on Demand for 24 hours on their show date. VOD start times are at 12 Midnight Eastern USA. Each General Admission Ticket or Festival Pass purchased is good for both the virtual and the in-person shows when both are offered. The in-person screenings will be held in Voorhees Hall #105/Rutgers University, 71 Hamilton Street, New Brunswick, NJ beginning at 5PM or 7PM on their show date. General Admission Ticket=$15 Per Program; Festival All Access Pass=$100; In-Person Only Student Ticket=$10 Per Program.
