This program of narrative shorts listens closely to the ways sound shapes our lives. From the intimacy of overheard voices through apartment walls, to the rhythms of music that connect us, to the silences and adaptations of those living with hearing impairments—these stories reveal how profoundly sound and its absence can define experience. Each film amplifies the textures of listening, reminding us that the act of hearing is never just physical, but emotional, cultural, and deeply human.

Booker is far from home but close to friends and mentors as he hosts an exuberant party. But when the noise of the party dies down and the last guests go home, a listlessness returns to him. Only the next morning, while playing his trumpet, does he find his place in the stillness of the soft early light.
