A musical mystery with the emotional pull of “Searching for Sugarman”—and a fascinating window into a lost chapter of Vietnamese culture. Vietnamese American filmmaker Khoa Ha sets out to recover the lost music of her grandfather, legendary composer Y Vân, whose songs once defined Saigon’s golden age. Traveling across Vietnam, she uncovers rare recordings, family stories, and a forgotten chapter of Vietnamese music history shaped by war and displacement. Spanning three generations, the film becomes an intimate journey of memory, cultural inheritance, and the enduring power of music. Director bio:Khoa is a multifaceted artist whose journey spans continents and cultures. Born in Vietnam, she moved to California in 2011, honing her design and art direction skills at top LA agencies before founding her own studio. Victor captures the truth that connects all humans. Born in France, raised in LA by filmmakers, he turns intimate stories into work that resonates with any audience.
