Director bio: Sandy Parker is an Italian-American screenwriter, director, and script supervisor based in New Orleans. After training in photography and working as a photo assistant and stylist, she found her way into the film industry by doing craft service. She especially enjoys infusing her quirky sense of humor into stories about underdogs who come out on top.

Welcome to Frogtown, a hybrid slice-of-life exploration of the weird and wonderful residents of a small Southern town and their beliefs, including tall tales of divine goats, invisible dragons, the skunk ape, and a giant talking frog. Grounded in the lore of the small town of Marianna, Florida, "Frogtown" emphasizes a sense of everyday wonder. The hybrid narrative/doc format allows this curious cast of townspeople to shine, led by a grandmother eager to prove the existence of the “frog king” she remembers from her girlhood. There’s a tinge of melancholy here: must we accept that things become less magical through jaded adult eyes? The answer is that whimsy is always accessible, but it helps if you listen to kids, visit swamps, and maybe even attend a parade. -ST Director bio:Costandinos "Costa" Karalis is a first-generation Middle Eastern American filmmaker based out of Atlanta, Georgia. His work explores the gray area where the worlds of the fantastic and the mundane meet, making for absurd and singular visual experiences that have found him acclaim globally.
