Grounded in the lore of the small town of Marianna, Florida, "Frogtown" emphasizes a sense of everyday wonder. The hybrid narrative/doc format allows this curious cast of townspeople to shine, led by a grandmother eager to prove the existence of the “frog king” she remembers from her girlhood. There’s a tinge of melancholy here: must we accept that things become less magical through jaded adult eyes?
