A devoted Washington Commanders fan has spent more than 50 years building a collection of team memorabilia. As the team reckons with its racist legacy and redefines its identity, he sees a final opportunity to preserve the collection. But preserving the past proves complicated. Between giving impromptu tours, writing to team ownership, and facing his wife’s pleas to declutter, he is forced to confront the contradictions in the legacy he holds dear.


Director bio:

Khaula Malik is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker based in NYC. She most recently co-produced "Girls Slate" and is currently in post on her first feature doc, "The Nobles" which has received support from DOC NYC and the Catapult Rough Cut Retreat. Her work has been supported by Sundance, HBO, Doris Duke Foundation, CAAM, PBS, and others. She served as a programmer for True/False from 2022 to 2024.
