
In a rural town in northern Mexico, Juan receives an unexpected call from his favorite cousin asking for financial help after an emergency. Juan sends the money, dragging his wife Lucía into a chain of increasingly difficult sacrifices.

Miguel Melo is a writer/filmmaker based in LA, originally from Mexico. His work is heavily influenced by the Queer and immigrant experience, identity, and flawed family dynamics. He studied Directing and TV Writing in the UCLA Extension Program. He’s a Berlinale Talent, received the NALIP Emerging Content Creators Scholarship, and was selected for the HBO’s Tomorrow’s Filmmakers, Today Program.
