Grace, a witty 13-year-old girl with big dreams and the rare gift of making everyone around her laugh, takes us back to her early childhood years with her loving farmer family in Kenya. Growing up in a vibrant family with eight siblings, her world is full of playfulness, and she dreams of becoming a comedian—and perhaps a farmer like her hardworking parents. Rain is everything to Grace and her family. She used to trust that the rain would come and make their crops grow into delicious maize and sweet pumpkins. But that has all changed. Grace shows us a time when disaster struck the family. Year after year, droughts put her family farm at risk, and her biggest fear becomes that her dad will have to leave them to find work in the city. When a storm destroys their home, Grace is sure that her family will be split apart. The rain that used to make her happy had suddenly become dangerous. But even in the midst of crisis, there is laughter and hope, and her close-knit family ultimately recovers. At the heart of this real life family’s story is Grace, whose humor and infectious optimism holds them together through tough times. We follow her journey, witnessing the power of resilience, humor, and the unshakeable belief that a better tomorrow is possible—even in the face of climate change.

After witnessing a massive fish kill on her ancestral home waters, Yurok tribal attorney Amy Bowers Cordalis dedicated her life to reversing the generations-long destruction wrought by the Klamath River dams. Undammed follows her journey to free the Klamath, from testifying before Congress to passing down fishing traditions within her young family. Now that the Klamath dams are finally coming down, she remains confident that the future of her tribe is bright. “It’s not a test,” Bowers Cordalis says of the largest dam-removal project in US history. “It will work.” Help restore the Klamath River by supporting Ridges to Riffles Indigenous Conservation Group.

In 1983, Cindell “Dellie” Dale talked her way onto her first commercial river trip through the Grand Canyon. Like many women in the industry at the time, her place was in the kitchen. But determined to push against the tide of a male-dominated river-running world, she earned her spot on the oars and became one of the Grand Canyon’s legendary dory guides. Inspired by the trailblazing women before her, Cindell is now proudly passing the oars to a new generation, declaring, “It’s about damn time.” Dories—delicate, hand-crafted wooden boats—are known as the ballerinas of the river. They first danced on the Colorado River in the 1970s, introduced by environmentalist Martin Litton to immerse people in the Grand Canyon’s majesty and rally support against damming and destruction. Today, as the fight over Colorado River rights intensifies, river guides carry on this legacy, advocating for the protection of the Grand Canyon, the Colorado River, and its sacred places. Powerful, poetic, and action-packed, ABOUT DAMN TIME takes viewers on an exhilarating journey through churning rapids and serene starry nights. Along the way, it delves into the rich history and inspiring present of boatwomen who are reshaping the river-running world for generations to come.
