We know Woody Guthrie as the voice behind “This Land Is Your Land.” Less familiar is his deep relationship with his mother-in-law, Yiddish poet Aliza Greenblatt, whose life and work became part of Guthrie’s own creative world. Filmmaker Steven Pressman follows this unexpected meeting of American folk and Yiddish culture, revealing a wonderfully Jewish footnote hiding in plain sight in American music history.
