Dr. Edith Eger survived Auschwitz and, influenced by fellow survivor and psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, went on to spend her life helping others understand a lesson she learned under impossible circumstances: we cannot always choose what happens to us, but we retain some power over what we do next. Her wisdom reaches Iris Haim, an Israeli mother confronting devastating loss after October 7. Their meeting brings two generations of grief into conversation, and asks what freedom, forgiveness, and hope can mean after the unimaginable.
