Voices With Impact in conversation with Cassandre Dunbar from the Be Well Sis Podcast.

Black Women & Mental Health on Screen is a short film program followed by a live conversation between Chris Hyde, Director of Voices With Impact, and Cassandre from Be Well Sis, a podcast and community dedicated to wellness and mental health for Black women.

Be Well Sis has built a space where conversations that mainstream wellness culture too often ignores get the room they deserve. Cassandre will discuss what it means for Black women to see their inner lives reflected on screen — with honesty, care, and without compromise.

'talking, where I'm from' is an experimental documentary that focusses on two black women who are therapists in the UK. It explores and inspires through animation, archive and contemporary footage as well as inter-generational conversation the need for the global black community to encourage discussions surrounding mental health.

Lauren and Cameron as a collective create accessible works for their community that breaks silence, preserves memory and amplifies community truths through celebrating or exploring black joy, history, art or mental health.
