Welcome back to Wildscreen Festival 2026! Join us live from Kingsmead for an afternoon exploring international collaboration and the power of wildlife storytelling to create change within communities.
Today's sessions (UK time):
14:00–15:00 | From First Contact to Final Cut: The Co-Production Journey
What does it really take to develop a successful international co-production? Industry experts share practical insights into finding partners, building relationships, navigating different territories and taking a project from initial conversations to the finished film.
- Moderator: Gaby Bastyra
- Speakers: Gernot Lercher, Joern Rover, Alison Barrat and Ollie Twinch
17:00–18:00 | The Ripple Effect: Mission Driven Communities
Storytelling impact doesn't always mean reaching millions of people or changing government policy. Sometimes the most meaningful change starts within a community.
This discussion explores how wildlife filmmakers and storytellers can support local action, build stronger networks and inspire change through collaborative and community-centred approaches.
- Moderator: Charles Whittaker
- Speakers: Thea Berry, Dr Carolina Machado Oliveira and Faith Musembi
Join the conversation!
Our livestream chat is open throughout the afternoon. Share your thoughts and experiences, connect with other viewers and join the discussion about collaboration and community impact.
Our remote Wildscreen volunteers will be moderating the chat and providing signposting and updates between sessions, including during the longer break this afternoon.
Please keep the conversation welcoming, constructive and respectful.
Enjoy the Festival!
