His video "Temptation" for Joey Bada$$ premiered at the Sundance Next Fest, and his first short film "The Burger" recently had its world premiere at Beyond Fest 2024. Director Statement What length would you go to for love?That is the complicated yet universal question my first love and I had to figure out at the naive age of 16. The true story depicted in this film between us and her family took place not even 6 months after we first met each other. This major event marked the beginning of an 8-year long period of secrecy and deception, yet also solidified the unyielding love and dedication we had for one another. It also revealed great allies we had in our corner to help nourish and support our relationship.Years later, after we got nikah (married) and the dust finally settled, I became close with her father. Hearing his perspective on the event and reflecting on my own, we drew a new understanding and respect for each other. What was once a triggering and scary encounter for both of us turned into a humbling one, and a reminder to “never judge a book by its cover.” Her father even makes a small cameo towards the end of the film - a full circle moment for all of us!

Nick has written on house sketch comedy teams and produced many live shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in LA. Videos he's made with his 73 year-old father reenacting video game emotes from Super Smash Bros, Street Fighter and Overwatch have been featured in GQ, Mashable, Huffington Post and NowThis News. Nick also volunteers as a mentor at Young Storytellers, a non-profit that teaches 5th graders how to write a 5-page screenplay that gets performed by professional actors on stage at their school. ﻿Director StatementWhen Joy approached me to direct Te Seguiré a la Oscuridad, I was drawn to the fun, stylized, visual tone of the script. As a teen who lived through the late 90s / early 2000s, it was a wonderfully ambitious challenge bringing the year 2005 to life through the use of practical props and wardrobe, as well as creating new music of the era in an effort to authentically take you back to that time. I also could relate to a character who spends a year obsessively studying for a crush. In fact, one time I read a 1000-page book for a crush and didn't talk to them about it (please don't ask me which cringey book it was)Ratings

Currently, I live in Los Angeles where I am a high school senior.&nbsp;As a filmmaker and animator, my work has been recognized in numerous competitions and festivals including YoungArts and IndieFEST, and as an actor, I have been featured in several commercials. I have taken the Cinematic Arts class at my high school for four years, along with taking film courses at NYU and USC over the summer.&nbsp;This fall, I will be pursuing a major in Film and Television Production at New York University.&nbsp;

At a young age, she got involved in her local acting productions and soon discovered her love for film and television. Since then, she has pursued her interest in bringing meaningful stories to life. She thoroughly enjoyed taking her previous experience into the production of One of My Own and collaborating with the incredible crew to create something truly special. Since graduating this past December (2023), she has been staying busy with post-production of her thesis, freelance gigs, and writing her next narrative short. Director StatementMy name is Analei Song and I am the writer and director of One of My Own. This story revolves around a young adopted Chinese girl navigating her identity amongst a white family and a society that seems to reject her. This is based on my own experience growing up as an adopted POC and I hope to share this with others. This topic is not often discussed in the media and yet it is a shared experience of so many individuals. With this film, I plan to raise awareness about this experience as well as connect with a larger audience. We’ve all looked for a sense of belonging and identity before and this film allows anyone to connect with Maisie regardless of their walk of life. I believe by sharing more stories like this, more people can understand and connect with others. We can begin to appreciate and realize the uniqueness of all those around us and give them a voice.

As a director, Vu has worked on a variety of projects, including directing a cast of 35 kids on the award-winning epic Western adventure short "Marty: A Wild West Neverland.” Another career highlight is the airing of an Aeropostale commercial on the jumbo screen in NY Times Square, and Vu has had music videos featured as the Vimeo Staff Pick, generating hundreds of thousands of internet views. He just recently wrapped up his most personal project "Newspapers" a short film about a Vietnamese immigrant family loosely inspired by his childhood and upbringing. He is also an Emmy-winning editor who has worked on feature documentaries and shorts, music videos, commercials, and independent projects, much of Vu’s work has aired on national television. Vu believes his strong professional experience post-production has given him a solid grasp of the overall process of a film, taking a story from concept to screening. This experience has helped shape the way he directs his screen projects, keeping the story central, and having a collaborative environment.
