Director Statement
When Joy approached me to direct Te Seguiré a la Oscuridad, I was drawn to the fun, stylized, visual tone of the script. As a teen who lived through the late 90s / early 2000s, it was a wonderfully ambitious challenge bringing the year 2005 to life through the use of practical props and wardrobe, as well as creating new music of the era in an effort to authentically take you back to that time. I also could relate to a character who spends a year obsessively studying for a crush. In fact, one time I read a 1000-page book for a crush and didn't talk to them about it (please don't ask me which cringey book it was)
