Charlie, her girlfriend Dani, and Charlie’s son Eli evacuate to Texas in the wake of a major hurricane. Stranded far from home with nothing of their own other than the bags they packed for a temporary relocation, Charlie learns her estranged father may be living nearby. As the three travel through a landscape of fading motels and strangers to find him, Charlie is forced to confront the distance between the family she comes from and the one she has a chance to build.
