Director bio: Mary McDade (she/her) is a New Orleans-based filmmaker. She holds an MFA in Film Production from the University of New Orleans and is a member of IATSE Local 600. Her work is characterized by the decaying landscapes of the Southern United States and the marginalized women who thrive there.

Director bio: Auro Angeli Earley (Angie), born to a Mexican-Irish mother from LA and a Tamil father, was raised in a jungle off the Bay of Bengal. With a background in custom fabrication and construction, she is now a New Orleans-based filmmaker recognized for her unique eye, production methods, and multicultural approach to narrative building.

Charlie, her girlfriend Dani, and Charlie’s son Eli evacuate to Texas in the wake of a major hurricane. Stranded far from home with nothing of their own other than the bags they packed for a temporary relocation, Charlie learns her estranged father may be living nearby. As the three travel through a landscape of fading motels and strangers to find him, Charlie is forced to confront the distance between the family she comes from and the one she has a chance to build. Director bio: Monique Champagne is an Academy Award-nominated set decorator and filmmaker whose work is rooted in intimate, emotionally rich storytelling. She has developed a reputation for crafting spaces that feel deeply lived in. Her approach to filmmaking is guided by emotional truth, often exploring themes of displacement, longing, and the fragile beauty found in everyday life.

Left to care for her sister, Kya’s day becomes a quiet journey of determination and imagination as she searches for a way to ease her mother’s burden. Grounded in the rhythms of every day life in New Orleans, "Sugar Water" is a story about resilience, childhood, and the sweetness that can still be found amid struggle. Director bio: Jordan Joseph is an actor, writer, director, proud New Orleanian and self proclaimed "all-purpose storyteller.” Her work is rooted in reality but sprinkled with light and love—resulting in warm, deeply humanistic narratives. Ultimately, her mission is to showcase the beauty of her heritage through cinema that is as lively, vibrant, and resilient as the city she calls home.

When a mother finds her nine-year-old son sleepwalking on the Spillway Road, she takes him home. As she attempts to keep him there, the reason he needs to leave becomes more apparent. Director bio: Nolam Plaas was born in LaPlace, Louisiana. He is a classically trained actor, and his previous short, "thiswearyflesh," premiered at New Orleans Film Festival. He was a member of the 2024 Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film, as well as an alumni of the Sundance Screenwriters Intensive for his feature project, "pecan."
