Director bio: Wendy Eley Jackson, MFA, is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, producer, and UCSB professor whose human-centered storytelling explores justice, history, culture, and legacy.

Director bio: David Friend is a journalist, editor, author, curator, and producer. He is a Vanity Fair contributing editor and was LIFE’s director of photography. The doc short "Maurice and Marvin" (2026) is his directorial debut. His executive producing efforts include "MLK/FBI" (Oscar-shortlisted, 2021) and two Emmy-winning films, "Lakota Nation vs. United States" (2024) and "9/11" (2002).

Director bio: Matt Nadel is a documentary filmmaker whose work explores queer history, survival, and the contradictions of American life. Shortlisted for an Academy Award, his latest film, "Cashing Out," examines a controversial industry that emerged in the early days of AIDS—and his own unlikely connection to it. Matt’s work has been distributed by the New York Times, The New Yorker, and PBS.

Odd Man In explores the complex double life of Donald Webster Cory, a mysterious writer who helped ignite the early gay rights movement—and then betrayed it.

After a pipe breaks in his late grandfather's house, filmmaker Troy Charbonnet documents a home in transition, searching its rooms for traces of memories and what remains after loss. Director bio: Troy Charbonnet is an African American and Mexican American filmmaker based in Southern California. He attended Chapman University and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film Production. His body of work spans across short films, documentaries, commercials, and music videos.

Director bio: Jean Chapiro is a Mexican filmmaker and journalist based in New York. As a director, she has received a Student Academy Award, Student DGA Award, Cannes Lions Young Director Award, and two Ariel nominations. As a producer, she has won two Student BAFTA Awards and was shortlisted for the 98th Academy Awards. She holds an M.S. in Journalism and an MFA in Creative Producing from Columbia University.

Director bio:Alexandra Kern is a filmmaker from New Orleans whose work explores cultural fabric across communities through intimate, character-driven portraits. The rhythms of the American South shape the pacing and sensibility of her films, and her practice also extends into producing work for artists including Dua Lipa, Lil Nas X, and Tyler the Creator.
