He is currently attending Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with an Emphasis in Directing (BFA Expected May 2027).Compelled to tell stories from a young age, L-J has been making films for as long as he can remember. He is ever curious about people and the world and finds beauty in how filmmaking is an art form based fundamentally on vulnerability and empathy. Drawing upon his diverse upbringing, he aims to bring authentic, vulnerable stories about human connection to the screen. A 2023 graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, he served as president of the Asian Pacific Cinema Association, and directed one of the prestigious CTPR 480 senior thesis films in his last semester. Since graduating, Matt has traveled all over Asia, lived with his grandparents in the Philippines for 6 months, and worked as an intern at Wong Fu Productions. His films have played at festivals such as San Diego Filipino Film Festival and FilAm Creative Film Festival.

She writes and directs character-driven films that explore themes of identity, isolation, and human connection. Inspired by her experiences growing up in Myanmar and adapting to life in the United States, her work often blends emotional storytelling with psychological elements. Midnight Home is her latest short film and continues her interest in exploring the fragile boundary between perception and reality.
