This evocative collection reflects on memory, place, and the meaning of home. Moving between personal histories and intimate moments, these films explore how the past lingers in the present—and how we find connection, comfort, and belonging amid change.

In 1937 Nanjing, two sisters grapple with the death of their family while desperately scrambling to flee from the Japanese army.

This film was completed while the director was 20 years old. The director and producer are currently 21 years old.


Director Biography - L-J ShenFilerman



L-J ShenFilerman is a film director from Massachusetts. He is currently attending Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with an Emphasis in Directing (BFA Expected May 2027).

Compelled to tell stories from a young age, L-J has been making films for as long as he can remember. He is ever curious about people and the world and finds beauty in how filmmaking is an art form based fundamentally on vulnerability and empathy. As an artist dedicated to exploring the language of film, L-J is constantly working to refine and develop his craft across multiple disciplines including writing, cinematography, photography, editing, composing, sound design, acting, and advertising.
