This heartfelt collection explores the search for belonging, self-discovery, and the places and people we call home. Through stories of family, culture, change, and personal expression, these films capture the quiet moments that shape who we are. Together, they remind us that homecoming can be a journey—one we take through memory, movement, and connection.

An Indian immigrant mother, Anokhi, quietly struggles in an abusive marriage, but when her daughter gets bullied, she must decide what kind of example she wants to set.

Director Biography - Rohini Jadhav

Rohini is a filmmaker with a professional background in architecture and international production. After 2 years working as an architect in India, she pursued a post-graduate degree in world-building at SCI-Arc in LA. Since then, Rohini has collaborated with notable designers like Oscar-nominated Guy Hendrix Dyas, Inbal Weinberg & David Lazan in their art department.

In India, Rohini art directed and assistant art directed on feature films for major production houses, RSVP and Benaras Mediaworks, that are streaming on Netflix (Bheed), Prime (Dear Father) and Zee5 (Despatch) after global theatrical releases. She has also independently designed for over 20 short films, music videos, and a handful of features and TV mini-series, with several projects featured in global festivals. In 2024, Rohini was a production design fellow in Color Creative’s Find Your People Program, designing a short film exec produced by Issa Rae.

In 2022, Rohini added screenwriting to her filmmaking repertoire, earning a Screenwriting Comprehensive certificate with UCLA. She was part of the Rickshaw Film Foundation’s Writers Room, where she wrote her first short script - Anokhi - also her directorial debut. Currently, Rohini is writing a feature exploring the complexities of a mother-daughter relationship with a disabled protagonist, an original pilot centered around 4 women turned unlikely powerhouses set in small-town India, and a Downton Abbey-esque pilot inspired by her family, who were aristocracy in pre-Independence India.
