Director bio: Chica Barbosa is a Mexican-Brazilian filmmaker based in LA, working across narrative, documentary, and experimental film. Her work explores identity, displacement, and postcolonial experience through lyrical, symbolic storytelling. She's screened at IDFA, Sheffield Doc/Fest, DOC NYC, and is developing her first narrative feature, a Mexico-US co-production.

Two brothers in Gaza are bound by the sea but divided by displacement. Once a horizon of freedom, the sea is now occupied and weaponized. Yet fishing remains both survival and defiance, a fragile thread of dignity against erasure. Director bio: Bisan is a 26-year-old Palestinian filmmaker and director based in Gaza, who has documented daily life there for five years. She created “Hakawatiya,” a TV and social media program exploring Gaza’s communities, culture and heritage. She has worked with Roya TV, Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya, producing documentaries during the genocide. Her work has received an Emmy Award and a Peabody Award.

After a pipe breaks in his late grandfather's house, filmmaker Troy Charbonnet documents a home in transition, searching its rooms for traces of memories and what remains after loss. Director bio: Troy Charbonnet is an African American and Mexican American filmmaker based in Southern California. He attended Chapman University and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film Production. His body of work spans across short films, documentaries, commercials, and music videos.

Director bio: Jean Chapiro is a Mexican filmmaker and journalist based in New York. As a director, she has received a Student Academy Award, Student DGA Award, Cannes Lions Young Director Award, and two Ariel nominations. As a producer, she has won two Student BAFTA Awards and was shortlisted for the 98th Academy Awards. She holds an M.S. in Journalism and an MFA in Creative Producing from Columbia University.

Their survival and slowly disappearing way of life depends on resourcefulness, a deep respect for nature, and identities that are defined by individuality, spiritual freedom and resiliency. Director bio:Alexandra Kern is a filmmaker from New Orleans whose work explores cultural fabric across communities through intimate, character-driven portraits. The rhythms of the American South shape the pacing and sensibility of her films, and her practice also extends into producing work for artists including Dua Lipa, Lil Nas X, and Tyler the Creator.
